Poppet check valve inserted into the foot of the Drum Alarms will prevent backflow of liquid while transferring the Drum Alarms to new drums. For self priming pumps this doesn't usually matter but if the volume in the line must be preceisly maintained, or the pumps are difficult to prime, then you will find a poppet check valve useful. All Drum Alarms are built with a fitting that unscrews to accomodate the poppet check valve.

Installing a Poppet

Touch-to-Silence alarms allow you to silence the alarm by covering the hole with your finger. This alarm senses this and responds by shutting down. The LED in the Drum Alarm continues to blink as a reminder. Everything resets automatically when the level is corrected. These can replace the existing alarm without enlarging the hole on units built after August 2008. These are only available in a continuous tone and the volume is 97dB at 2 ft - not as loud as the standard alarm.
